I had the opportunity to collaborate with a firm willing to learn and following recommendations. In 2013-2017, LOKAL+ offered institutional support to IFOS in several areas: development of strategic plan, certification of indirect costs, communication and team cohesion, etc. Right after, IFOS implemented almost all the recommendations. For example, we suggested that they should have offices that reflect their image, a few months later, I was invited to visit their new offices. After being certified for the administrative costs, IFOS undertook its transactions systematic external audit with its own resources. And then, IFOS became a limited company as it was suggested during the strategic planning which revealed that IFOS could win more contracts in regards of the management commitments for this type of company.

With IFOS I could understand that some actor’s irresponsibility caused Haiti’s development challenges. IFOS’s approach based on supportive actions enables sustainable changes in communities. Before joining IFOS, the principles of good governance and sustainable development seemed a little vague or purely theoretical. Based on collaborative actions and consensual decisions, IFOS interventions are effective and efficient which led me to new perspective on the management of local initiatives (local programs and projects).
Richarlot Amazan — Agronomist, governance specialist, field coordinator in the South for IFOS
After each project, either qualitative, quantitative or tax mobilization research training with IFOS, I must acknowledge that I feel more efficient, and more dynamic to go to the field. My experiences with IFOS have greatly contributed to improving my skills. The first thing that comes to mind when talking about IFOS is quality training.
For me IFOS is a real university which has changed me. IFOS made me a real agent.
Dijon Agulal Brons — Surveyor
My experience with IFOS began in 2015, mainly with local governance and EGRA evaluation projects. Following are the words describing a local firm and its services: dynamic, quality, devoted dynamic and motivated team, competent and experimented staff.
Dr. Patrick Hermain Honoré - Participatory planning specialist, EGRA trainer
In my capacity as coordinator of studies and prospective evaluation for the project Education for All, I have supervised several times since 2014, the work of IFOS on behalf of the World Bank and the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training , I was seduced by the excellent work done, its quality and its finesse. With his expertise and experience, I would recommend IFOS, as I am convinced of its ability to carry out national or international missions in its areas of intervention.
Atabanam Simbou — Responsible for Studies and Prospective Evaluation, Education for All project (EPT), MENFP/World Bank
IFOS hired me in 2013 as administrative and logistics assistant for the project to strengthen the organizational capacity of North and North East municipalities. In 2014, I worked with IFOS on the forum on the capitalization of experiences and good practices in local governance. In 2017, I was a collection agent, then I became supervisor for the in reading and writing evaluation program of targeted schools. Now I am a trainer. From 2013 to 2018, see below what marked me during these 5 years of collaboration:
Concern for a job well done
Everything is put in place for a quality job from the beginning to the completion. To do so, the responsible provide appropriate trainings to the staff who become able to do its best. With training and adequate materials, good and clear objectives, the work will be well achieved, knowing that a good monitoring is part of the process.
rigorous work standards
With the process comes discipline for a serious work respecting administrative norms such as punctuality, proper progress, final report.
Respect
IFOS is a place where respect is required. Mutual respect to do the work. Respect for the staff. We feel good, we do not need anything. When in IFOS, I feel I have everything. My only focus are my tasks.
Equal treatment
There is no discrimination. As a woman, I don’t feel less than a man. Once I met a one-armed man who worked as anybody in the field after the training. So, this was proof that with IFOS, only you can limit yourself. There is no discrimination on appearance or else.
Working with IFOS is very rewarding. I learn at all levels, from everybody. More, I can contribute to my country development through the projects in which I intervene. Thanks to IFOS.
Vanessa Julien — Trainer, IFOS
As a director of administration and finance and then as assistant director of operations, I had very good experiences with IFOS, a Haitian company subcontracted by my employer for more than 5 years. Even though the contracting process could take months with most firms, it was a very smooth and rapid process with IFOS whose administrative procedures are so reliable. IFOS’s dedication, professionalism and respect of international standards made its relationship with my employer very fluid and extremely fruitful.
Clarisse Ndjungu — USAID LOKAL+ Operations Assistant Director
We have two main reasons to highly appreciate our collaboration with IFOS: their seriousness and quality work. As soon as the team is engaged on a project, they will do due diligence, whatever the difficulties, not only to achieve the goals but more with a high level of technical and professional quality. So we recommend IFOS for program evaluation and large scale data gathering.
